Do you have a cut-off for the
year of medical school graduation?
There is no specific cut-off, but we
prefer applicants that have graduated
within the past five years.

I have been told that I need to go to a university program in order to obtain a good fellowship. Is that true?
Our residents have been quite successful in obtaining fellowships at many prestigious institutions, including Indiana University, Mayo Clinic, M.D. Anderson, University of Pittsburgh, University of Iowa, University of North Carolina, etc. (Please see the Fellowship Placement section of our website.)

What visas do you sponsor?
We cannot guarantee sponsorship of any type of visa. Availability of visas depends on many factors outside our control and cannot always be anticipated in advance. Visa sponsorship will be handled on an individual basis.

How do I apply to your program?
We accept applications only through ERAS for PGY-1 positions. Please do not send e-mails, fax applications, CV’s, letters of recommendation, etc. We cannot process applications in this manner and they will be discarded.

Are all applicants interviewed?
We receive over 200 applications per year for three positions. We typically interview about ten applicants a year.

What is the minimum USMLE score?
We typically give preference to candidates with one USMLE score above 80 (two digit score).

Is clinical experience in the U.S. required?
This is not an absolute requirement, but strong preference is given to candidates that have had experience with the U.S. medical system.

Do you have externship or observation positions?
We are unable to sponsor such positions at this time. Senior student electives can be arranged through Indiana University School of Medicine.

How many letters of recommendation do you require?
We would like to receive three letters of recommendation.

Do you require applicants to have passed USMLE Step 3?
No, however, this is a requirement for an H-1B visa.
