JCAHO tabs Blackford Community Hospital with second perfect report in eight months
For the second time in less than a year, surveyors from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) left Blackford Community Hospital very impressed following a survey of the facilities.
The Lab at BCH, managed by PA Labs, earned accreditation with no recommendations, essentially, a perfect score.
Last fall, BCH as a hospital earned accreditation with no recommendations.
"We are proud to have received our second JCAHO accreditation at BCH in the last year," said Steve West, President, Blackford Community Hospital. "To do so with no recommendations is a testament to the staff of PA Labs stationed at BCH and the commitment they bring to the hospital on a daily basis."
The JCAHO has been the leading healthcare accrediting body in the country for more than fifty years. They evaluate, accredit, and set standards for nearly 15,000 healthcare organizations and programs in the United States. Joint Commission accreditation is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to high performance standards. Accredited healthcare organizations receive the JCAHO’s "Seal of Approval."
